Elgin Moore (a.k.a.) Elgin Nation was born December 28, 1992 in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a young boy Elgin was raised in one of New Orleans most notorious housing projects, known as The Saint Bernard. Growing up in a place where crime was everywhere, his parents tried to keep him focused on the positive things. At age 6, Elgin learned to read music. His interests included all genres of music and seeing musicians performing on the street corners of New Orleans made reality of performing one of his goals. He immersed himself in his grandfathers’ old cassettes and albums. Discovering Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, he studied the moves of MJ and performed in local talent shows. Family and friends encouraged him to push further. In 2010 Elgin Nation’s career had taken off on to a rapid road to success. He was featured on some of Hip Hops most popular blog sites: Greed Mont Park, Gorilla Leak, Vlad TV and more. Elgin had two hit singles in rotation on campus radio stations around the country, called ‘Money Talks’ and ‘Questionnaire. He has performed in major venues such as the Fox Theatre, The 7 Venue and multiple shows at GSU. Elgin writes 100% of the lyrical content he records and produces 98% of the music he releases. In the year 2011 he released his first OFFICIAL mixtape entitled ‘The Transfer.’ Elgin also released three hit music videos in 2011: ‘Watch My Wings,’ ‘Bruce Lee,’ and ’30 Rounds’ with each project counting up thousands of views within weeks of the release.
